PvZ Fusion Features and Gameplay: How Fusion Works
The fusion system lets you merge plants into hybrids. Here's how it works, plus the modes, zombies, and features that define PvZ Fusion.
The core of PvZ Fusion is one mechanic: fusion. Everything else — the modes, the zombies, the challenge — is built around it.
How plant fusion works
Plant a compatible seed packet directly on top of a plant that's already on your lawn. The two merge into a hybrid that keeps both abilities and sometimes gains a brand-new power. Not every pair merges — the in-game plant list shows which recipes work before you spend sun guessing. Many fused plants can take another ingredient later, so a single tile keeps getting stronger across the level.
Classic example: Peashooter planted on Sunflower becomes a pea-shooter that also produces sun. From there, the combinations get wild — the community has documented over 500 of them.
Game modes
- Adventure/Travel mode — the main campaign across reworked worlds including Snowfield
- Endless Survival — how long can your fused defenses hold?
- Fusion Challenge — each cleared stage unlocks a three-plant recipe usable in every mode
- Super Custom Levels — build and share your own levels
- Odyssey and Challenge modes — brutal late-game tests built around Titans and multi-phase Zomboss fights
New zombies and bosses
Forget the old difficulty curve — zombies here hit much harder. Expect new variants like the Football Vaulter and Squash zombotany zombies, plus multi-phase boss fights that demand real fusion strategy, not just a wall of Melon-pults.
